Sorry for being late Joel.
I absolutely used nothing except proper shut downs/restarts.

Odd, it's been fine for me ever since. Did you run any X-config programs
or anything like that?

Hi Joel,
Bad news. It was fine after a couple of restarts or shut down/next day
boots but I had the same problem today.
I repeated what I did before, logged out and logged back in and now it's
ok.
I still don't understand how xorg.conf changes.
All the best,
Tolga

No problem, Tolga. As this solution worked for you, I think I can set
this as fixed. :)

Hello Joel,
Thank you very much for the wonderful advice. I have sold the problem
but it was you who showed me the light.
I have posted my solution in my blog:

Thank you a million times
Actually, I fixed mine relatively easily. In xorg.conf, instead of
'nvidia-auto-select' in modes, I changed to '1280x960 1024x768 800x600'
and now it works fine.
I changed the login screen to a simple one and then back and now it's
all solved.
Best wishes,
Joel

I was using 8.04 and then upgraded to 9.04. After the driver installed,
everything works fine at the resolution I prefer, 1024x768. However,
when I change to 1280x960, the screen looks very blurry/fuzzy, like a
printer with low DPI. I
