I can confirm this bug. After I upgrading to Jaunty from Intrepid, Smart Pinyin disappeared from the SCIM menu. Also the Smart Pinyin module has disappeared "IM Engine"->"Global Setup". Removing (purge) and reinstalling scim-pinyin does not help. However I have found a simple workaround: cd ~; r

My problem was that the whole module is not shown in "SCIM Setup" - "IM Engines" -> "Global Setup" - "Chinese (simplified)". I just saw four modules, none of them written in Chinese characters, and none enabling intuitive pinyin-based input. After I compiled and installed scim-pinyin from source, t

It may be that you accidentally disabled the module in SCIM somehow. You can try to right-click on the SCIM icon and choose "SCIM Setup". Under "IM Engines" -> "Global Setup", make sure that the module is selected under "Chinese (simplified)". -- Smart Pinyin input method is missing https://bugs.

"Smart Pinyin" is present in the "Simplified Chinese" sub-menu of the input method list under its Chinese name, like in Intrepid, as it is a primarily "Simplified Chinese" module. However, you also can type traditional Chinese characters with it. PLease verify that you have the scim-pinyin packa
