So, I have installed Jaunty and installed the latest updates on the
duplicate Studio 15. This time, the laptop has a wireless interface and
it could connect to a wireless network. So, Tim was right and this was
simply a hardware problem as opposed to a compatibility problem. For

Oddly, I have another Studio 15 which was apparently a duplicate of the
laptop being tested in this bug. The BIOS settings are the same as
described above, even the "{none}" part, but the lspci output clearly
shows a wireless device. The duplicate is still running Intrepid though,
it hasn't been te
In the BIOS, I get "{none}" under System -> Device Info. However, the
BIOS also provides a Wireless section in which everything is enabled.

Even if the rf-kill switch is enabled during boot, the device would
normally still show up on a PCI scan. I think your wireless device is
either absent, broken, or perhaps disabled in the BIOS. Be sure to check
your BIOS settings (if any).

@Marc, you mentioned that you tried installing linux-restricted-modules,
but this is part of the default installation. Was this a custom
installation of any kind, and if so, could you try again with a default
install?

It seems strange but I don't see the wireless card showing up in the
lspci output. I believe it was mentioned this was certified against
8.04 and 8.10. Could you boot one of those previous releases and get me
information regarding which wifi card and driver should be showing up
and used? I'm ass

Hi Marc,
Can you run "apport-collect -p linux 361859". It'll automatically
gather and attach the necessary kernel debug files we need. Minimally I
really want to see `sudo lspci -vnvn > lspci-vnvn.log` as well as dmesg
output. Thanks.
