I had a similar problem in the past (with 9.10 and now 10.04) with audio
not coming from either headphones or the built in speakers on this same
model.
In 9.10 it was fixed by appending " options snd-hda-intel model=eapd
probe_mask=1 position_fix=1 " to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-
base.conf ,
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release (10.04)? Thanks in
