Adding GtkScale::trough-side-details = 1 does not change the behaviour
you mention. Have you tested it? Can you include screenshots?

If I understand this correctly, you are saying that the progress bars
*should* only have a line on one side?
The murrine engine in Jaunty was recently updated in order to remove the
selection highlight which only had a fill and a line on the bottom.
