On the same DVD I have the same result, I have tried also another DVD
and it works fine.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Can you try to reproduce this bug with dvdbackup 0.4.1-1?
You can either use Ubuntu 9.10 or grab this package for Ubuntu 9.04 from
my backports PPA: https://launchpad.net/~bdrung/+archive/backports
