This is resolved.
In previous Ubuntu versions of Liferea, it would play embedded flash by
default. In 9.04 there is a setting in Tools -> Preferences -> Browser
-> Allow Flash in Feeds which defaults to unchecked. Checking that
setting fixes it. (I didn't expect this new option, and just now

I cannot confirm this. On x86-64 (amd64), same versions of
liferea/firefox/flash, flash plays fine in liferea... This on a blog with
youtube videos embedded in posts...
Can you tell me the feed that's not working for you?
