Well, it works for me now. Ran an "aptitude update && aptitude upgrade"
command, and the latest opdates seems to work just fine.

I have the same problem on my Aspire one, with a normal version of
Ubuntu 9.04 Beta release. I have also tried a lot of different programs.
A restart of the X Server fixes this for me, but fails again after a few
secons.
