I just upgraded to 9.04, the problems seems to be disappeared.

tried with ssh, when computer freezes, existing ssh session will hang
too, no new ssh session can start.

Thanks for the report, it could be a xorg crash/hang could you please
attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and X server log file
(/var/log/Xorg.0.log) after reproduced the hang? could you ssh to the
machine or it hangs completely?
