Yes, I give you permission to send the powerpoint file.
The reason I marked the bug as private is that I have data in the ppt
that I do not want to be cached by some web crawler. I will find the
specific slides that cause the crash and modify them so that I am
comfortable making the file world read
This bug appears to be somewhere in ooo-build, as you marked this bug
private is it ok for me to send this powerpoint file to the ooo-build
developers to work on fixing this issue? Also does this bug need to stay
private in Launchpad for some reason?

Updated jaunty to ii openoffice.org 1:3.0.1-4ubuntu1 and gdb still shows
a segfault when loading the ppt.
