digital clock not applying (enhanced localization support makes KDE use
whatever is most common for the locale, in case of en_US it would be
"Fri, 3 Jul" it seems), I don't think the pager should be 1 row since it
wastes more

gtk-qt-engine is installed by default, but it's not working because
libbonoboui2.0 is not installed by default

Desktop effects have been on by default since Intrepid. If the hardware
cannot handle them they are turned off. (We use compiz's blacklist.)
Generally any card that supports desktop effects can run them well.
