I have a Fujitsu P7230 laptop. It has the Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7
Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02). I can confirm that
this problem still exists with the Ubuntu 9.04 beta Live CD. When I
connect my headphones, they work, but the speakers do not mute. This
used to work before
