Hmm, it seems things are worse than I thought. Resuming a failed
download from an FTP server suffers the same problem:

[22:09:10]RECV: 200 Data port set
[22:09:10]SEND: REST -2015472530
[22:09:10]RECV: 501 Illegal value
Should have mentioned, this is on the amd64 version of Intrepid.
