This appears to be fixed. The problem was always intermittent, but after
suspending several times, waiting overnight and waiting several days
before resuming, I am not seeing this anymore. I'll refile if it comes
up again.

I have successfully come out of suspend after suspending overnight
twice. I'd like to wait even longer and do a couple of other things
before calling the bug fixed though. I'll keep you posted.

This seems to happen more readily if I suspend then resume after a day

Oops, I take that back. When I came out of suspend and re-entered gnome
I was told there was a serious kernel problem. Attached is the dmesg.

It is not readily reproducible. Eg, I did all the suspend/resume tests
in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/SuspendResumeTesting yesterday and
it worked fine. However, today I tried it (again from with gnome) and it
happened again.
I did try 'sudo pm-suspend' from VT1 and it worked fine. Because
If it is reproducible could you try the suspend from VT1, press ctrl-
alt-F1, login, and run pm-suspend there. If you could test and report
back here that would be helpful. Also it is also worth trying the
proceedure documented here to try and find which device is triggering
the problem:
