Has anyone seen this problem more than once?
I have reworked the way the status is gathered and I'm curious if this
is still a problem...

I've tried but unfortunately I cannot. Perhaps you were right about it
being a one time bug, I had just started using it.

If you do manage to reproduce it, it would help if you attach strace
output. You might modify your /usr/bin/screen wrapper script to call
strace screen.real and tee the strace output (on stderr) to a file.

I thought I set it to Invalid, sorry. :)
I'll try and reproduce it in the following 5 days - from what it looks
like, it's a one time bug, probably because of old .screen* files. If I
manage to make it crash again, I'll re-open it. :)
