i dont understand what flickers here ... the notification bubble? thats
rather a notification-daemon bug. in jaunty we now use our new notify-
osd server; maybe check if that fixes it.

When I kill nm-applet and start it again, the 'amount of flicker on
connect' is reset to zero. Seems like nm-applet is keeping some state
here.
