As much as I don't understand how this can be considered as a feature
request and not a bug, I accept your decision and I'll follow your
suggestion (bring the issue to the ubuntu-devel mailing list).

I'd also suggest that if a change like this be made at all, that it be
made irregardless of installation method, as new users are not just
confined to Wubi.
You should probably raise the issue on ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com.

Jamie Strandboge : Thanks for the clarification about -updates and
-security, I didn't know that security updates always get into -updates
after some time. However, wishlist seems wrong to me since it's a bug
and not a feature request, low or medium would be more appropriate IMO.

enabled, the sources.list provided contains -updates, which gets all
security updates after a short lag.
