This have been solved with revision 922347 of the source. Attached is a
.diff.gz against revsion 922347 of the source.
Below SVN command can be used to get the source.

I also have this problem with Kubuntu A4. I've turned off the battery
indicator (as I'm on a desktop). In order to display network info or
status the space between the time and date and widget menu (bottom
right-hand corner) has to be clicked or hovered over (screenshot
attached).

Can confirm these circumstances after the update of the package
"0.0+svn920770-0ubuntu1" has been implemented
On the other hand the UI is working well and the Info-Plasmoid (after
klicking the Main-Box) is showing all available networks and the
selected one on top.

I can confirm this one. I am using version 0.0+svn920770-0ubuntu1.
Please see attached screenshot. Icon should be between battery indicator
and sound icon.
