It looks like that this will be too big task to properly solve for Jaunty: I
have backported/adapted most of the fixes for warnings from upstream SVN (it
still took me quite some time :-(), but upstream still does not have any error
handling for fgets/fscanf/fwrite calls. :-(

otherlibs/highgui seems to have v4l capabilities, but the package is not
using libv4l do handle the devices. This may cause problems.
I'd like to see the various build warnings from the buildlog[1] cleaned up
before this MIR continues. e.g.:
cxpersistence.cpp:1001: warning: suggest parentheses a
