I have a dmesg output from boot through suspend and it's subsequent
resume failure.
To answer some questions in earlier comments (although they were
directed at someone else):
- This lock up + disk I/O errors happens on every suspend/resume I've tried
which is about 4 times total in a f
I've just tried suspend in Windows Vista on the same laptop (as the
previous comment).
- Suspend is a bit slow, but works.
- Resume is quite fast, about 2 seconds from button press to a Windows
desktop.
So those slow Linux resumes must be failing at an early stage.

I can confirm the same problems on a Compaq Presario CQ60-219EA with 4GB
RAM running 64-bit Jaunty, installed and updated a couple of hours ago.
The console shows disk I/O errors, and ext4 eventually decides to
remount the disk read-only.

I also experience this bug. I have the Compaq Presario CQ60-210US
notebook and when resuming from suspend all hell breaks lose.

If I suspend it directly then it doesn't wake up completely. The screen
remains black and only mouse respond. Else, if I use the script then it
wake up fine. But the file system is mounted read-only in both cases and
the laptop doesn't halt. It appears errors of I/O request. Sorry for my
english! :

While coming back from sleep. I updated at the last kernel and it's
still reproducible.
