The problem started a few days ago.
I have no issue on playing video files with vlc but the problem occures when i
want to close vlc. Then it freezes out and after a wile it quits the
nothing is being reported. Only when i restart the OS or logout and login again
apport reports the VLC issue
I forgot to write, it doesn't matter if I choose the next song or VLC
jump to the next song, I have the same reaction, VLC is closed.

I used VLC to play songs. When I chose next song from a playlist, VLC closed it
self. I had the same problem with TV from internet.
The problem has repeated every time in this session and in another sessions,
but it doesn't repeat every session!

vlc crashed on me while trying to close the app...i was playing a 720p
.mkv i could not reproduce the bug, i tried on the same .mkv file and
others...all seemed to work ok...what other information can i provide?

here vlc does not have problems with any of my media files. vlc dies
when i click on a playlist item or on a media library item. Maybe i am
the only one that uses this feature with vlc. It works with the windows
version of vlc. Should i file another bug addressing this?

"Yorkfield-4M" (45nm), with a GeForce 9500 GS - 512 MB GDDR2 and as audio:
Realtek ALC 888S chipset.
Lotta audio problems with this pulseaudio crap, seems to me.
