I can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 10.04 32bits;
The email shows with "[?]" as described in the previews comments
The only workaround I found is to go View / Character Encoding and chose
something other than "Default" like UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1; once I do that,
the text appear correctly in the email
I can also confirm this bug, I recently changed one account from POP to
IMAP and all of the sudden all HTML e-mails received on that account
have this problem.
My messages are processed through many filters and I have just turned
that off on this account to see if that has any effect.
Ubuntu 10.0
I can confirm the problem to Dejan and Nick Davies. With certain HTML-
messages most lines are just outputtet as "[?]"
I also am running lucid on a 64-bit system. Although my Userspace is 32bit.
But this seems to be a different problem as the original one.

I'm having a similar problem to Dejan, although I'm not sure it's
related to the original problem reported here - my issue seems to be
related to special characters in the HTML.
To reproduce, save the attached HTML file, compose a new message add the
saved file via insert -> HTML File. The attache
I confirm this problem on Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 RC with latest updates on

and here's another email that fails. I suspect the issue is to do with
how the email is decoded. There seems to bee a number of strange 3D
references floating through the email... This one is from here
regarding a bug so should be a better source of information.

I am also experiencing this issue (or one very, very similar)...
Lucid 10.04 beta 64bit
Using Exchange MAPI to connect to Exchange 2003 server,*some* HTML emails
display in preview pane on first click but subsequent opening (in preview or
full window) results in just headers being displayed.
I have exactly the same problem (kubuntu 9.04). Thunderbird works fine,
though. Is there perhaps a mime types file for evolution/gnome that
should be tweaked?

I can also confirm this on Jaunty AMD64. I also got the same problem in
Thunderbird (2.0.0.21) at the same plattform.
Have tried with the same e-mail displayed on my Gmail, thunderbird, evolution
and also in the mailbox-reader in Webmin. The mail is showed correctly on Gmail
and webmin but not
