Hi Scott,
> Does the version of the package in Debian now support exaile?
Actually it's the other way around (the plugin in Exaile uses moodbar),
but yes, they do work together. Note that I have no idea whether there's
a version of the plugin for the Exaile version in Ubuntu, but the plugin
is in
OK, so removal was wrong because sometime later an exaile plugin got
added? Please understand that we can only deal with events in the order
that they happen.
Does the version of the package in Debian now support exaile?

The package is not dependant on Amarok only recommended. So nothing would have
broke the install.

Removal of this package was based on misinformation.
=== QUOTE Scott Kitterman wrote on 2009-01-12 in Bug#316262===
Yes. It should definitely be removed. From debian/changelog:
* debian/control: Add Recommends: amarok, as only amarok can actually use
moodbar's output for now.
The package depended on Amarok 1.4. If someone wants to propose a version
that doesn't require Amarok 1.4, then there is a process to get packages
added to Ubuntu that anyone is free to follow.
It is not appropriate to release with broken, uninstallable packages and so
removal was appropriate.
No, that's not how it works.

This still needs to be put back for Exaile, and DJ use. You don't remove a
package until an valid alternative is available.
Again please undo the damage you did.

If they are using Amarok 1.4 from a PPA, then that sounds like a good place
for moodbar to live too.

Please undo the damage you did to Ubuntu, Exaile and Amarok14 by restoring the
moodbar to the Ubuntu Jaunty repository.
As you broke it, please fix it.

This is ridiculous. Moodbar can be used for more than just Amarok. Plus most
people are using Amarok 1.4 from PPA because Amarok 2 is so terrible.
Moodbar is a very important feature for DJ's and a very important piece of
software which should not be just removed because "Steve and Scott" want it

True, but it's intent is for Amarok primarily (it's distributed via the

packaged once it's mature.
