I tested the issue on Intrepid full update (as suggested by Pedro) and
in fact the portable audio device is correctly recognized. I think some
updates fix the issue present in the live.
Moreover I can confirm the bug in Hardy (I tested this on a fresh

use Hardy so for me is rather difficult to test other distros if they aren't
live cd as I have a slow internet connection).
