I can confirm the sad tale of woe with the OpenLdap tutorial on Jaunty.
It took me a while to figure out that pasting the syncrepl config text
into an ldif file didn't work. When I ran ldapmodify on that ldif, it

i created 3 openldap replicated servers on 3 different ubuntu mach
