I'am testing Ubuntu 9.10, and when i click on preferences,Evolution
crashes. Edit>Preferences> then Evolution closes.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Here is a backtrace per the instructions
posted, in case it is helpful.
Perhaps a problem in em-folder-tree-model.c:402?
