I tried to respond to your to your suggestion that I set PCM in
"alsmixer -Dhw" to 80 and unmute the channel by replying to your email.
Apparently you did not get my answer. The answer was that following
your suggestion did not make any difference. Still no sound.
Note: PCM was at 100 before th

Is my face red ? I have just brought up the volume control and pushed up
the volume on PCM and front and now I have sound. Now I thought I had tried all
that. just shows to go you. Write everything down. I am happy :-)
