Gnome-Do works now!
I tried starting Gnome-Do from a Guest account and it worked there. So, I
restarted the computer and logged on to my account and noticed that Gnome-Do
started automatically as it always used to do.
Sorry, it was a false alarm.

profile (or from the guest account), to see if the problem is specific
to your use profile.

I don't see that purple icon. And nothing happens when I press Win+Space.
I have a similar computer at home too and after installing all updates and
restarting my home computer, Gnome-Do is working normally. I am not sure if
this is specific to only a few types of computers... Is there a way to f
Just to check - is there a small, purple gnome-do icon in your
notification tray? Does the summon keybinding (win+space by default)
work to bring up the UI?

No. I am using Intrepid. I don't know what my gnome-do version is... the
only way I know to find out version is to go to 'About' and since I
cannot even start the program, I cannot use that method.
