AFAICT this was fixed in 0.8.2 or 0.8.3; in any case, you have the
option of setting an interface to not force IP negotiation to succeed to
bring the interface up. Marking as Fix Released since these changes are
at least definitely in Natty (and ipv6 works quite well here).
