With me (im using 8.10 also) it just occasionally closes.
Which as you can imagine is most inconvenient. Its not a matter of
frequently saving my work however, because it normally crashes soon
after it is opened :(.

Odder still. Kompozer was not running. I was using Brasero (hoping it
would work...), adding image files to write to a disk. I had added 328
files and started to add 63 more when ... poof, Brasero disappears and I
get a message saying Kompozer has crashed!
I suspect it is not just Kompozer at faul
I have the same sort of problem with Jaunty alpha 4. Kompozer seems to
break in a different way every time. Often, there is a message that
nepomuk has broken at the same time, so maybe that's the basic problem.
I just tried Kompozer again and it died after a few seconds. Funny thing

I can confirm that this is happening in 9.04a4 (64-bit) as well.
It's very frustrating... You can't mouse over items in the View, Insert,
Format, or Table menu without the program crashing. Hovering over items
in the File, Edit, and Help menus works fine - which means this is *not*
the same as bu
Any update on this? I'd really like to use Ubuntu as my web dev platform
and I'd really need the assistance of a graphical HTML editor for the
moment.

Reopening the bug. Test case:
1. Open kompozer
2. Select menu "insert"
3. Hoover over it
Result: Kompozer crashes.
This bug exists only in Intrepid. Kompozer in hardy works just fine.

Confirmed. Opening any menu from the menu bar and hovering over any item
that has additional options produces a segfault.

I've tried deleting localstore.rdf for kompozer, to no effect. Quits
when I choose anything from the pulldown menu. This package could be
the best wysiwyg html editor but for this bug.
