It seems this bug is related to bug #253599 (usb disk icons should be
different from hdd icons) and bug #436462 (have different icons for usb

Alex, is 'Storage' NOT an external hard disk, but instead a usb flash
key? If it's a hard disk in a plastic case with a usb cable, then the
icon is correct as far as generic fall backs go, which is all we will
ship in gnome-icon-theme itself. If it's a flash key, then the icon

The Storage icon is the same as the Filesystem icon when mounted because
the Gnome icon theme does not contain a "drive-harddisk-usb" icon. If
the theme contains one, then it will be used. I have a theme with that

It's very unlikely this is a GVFS issue. It is likely an icon theme
issue and/or the information from HAL is wrong
