I get a very similar crash in ubuntu 8.10 (which did not happen in
8.04). However, my machine does not crash when connected to a wireless
network, only when _connecting_ to a wireless network.
I too get a complete freeze and have to hold down the power button to
kill the laptop. The problem with m
