I've found the bug upstream
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370436). It's pretty
curious. When the context menu key is pressed on the line above the
word, the menu is shown correctly.
Till then, don't forget to press (Arrow) Up before pressing the context
menu key. ;)

Ah, this was previously reported. How did I not see it? Darn. Marking

Context menu key to fix spellings is on wrong line of textar
I can confirm that in Launchpad (using this text area into which I am
now typing), but it behaves as it should in GMail's compose option. At a
first guess, is this difference linked to rich text area (as in GMail)
vs. plain text area (as here)?
