I can get a video driver issue with the 'content' of an open office text
document...

Is there a slick way to get info like this off the command line? I got
it via the nvidi
Which nvidia driver are you using there are several. As you mentioned
this sounds like it is a video driver issue.

On restart, I selected one file (an ods) for recovery that was not
involved in the crash.
While recovering, the Navigator window opened over the recover window
and flashed on and off several times. when I click Finish the video
corruption happens in two windows (the file selection for recovery see

opened with substantial visual corruption in the windows (typical of
video driver issues). They flickered constantly so I had to force quit
again. Trying a reboot...

I just got a repeat of this problem in a different scenario (and only
one workspace):
I opened a two windows on a document. The styles and navigator ancillary
windows were open. One document was on the left screen and one on the
right with both ancillary windows on the left screen.
