Could it be some kind of permissions error? It looks almost like Gnome
isn't able to access the drives without root privs.

i reinstalled hardy heron; you'll have to ask some one else who got this
problem like me, excuse me, when you release live cd it will be easier
for me to give it a try, can you tell me when are you going to release
live cd?
