This appears to still be an issue in Lucid
slabtop -V
procps version 3.2.8
slabtop --once > slabtop.txt
cat slabtop.txt shows nothing, but the file size is 1518 bytes.
head slabtop.txt will show the file as long as the last line isn't
displayed.
top -n 1 > top.txt creates a readable file
