Works now after I upgraded to 2.6.31-15, after suspend as well as
hibernation :)

Same here. Dell Precision M4400, clean 9.10 x86_64 Desktop install and
updated. Sound works after a fresh boot and is gone after hibernation.
/etc/init.d/pulseaudio restart doesn't fix it. Check out the complaints
about ALSA in the logs below.

Just want to try to keep this report up to date. Care to test and
confirm this issue remains with the latest development release of Ubuntu
(ie Karmic). ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . You should be able to test suspend
using a LiveCD if you didn't want to inst

Hey, I am currently using Jaunty and it's still the same. I never got to
trying out the vanilla kernel, was busy with school and never got to it.
I've been looking for solutions (again) and I cannot seem to find
anything new, I'm guessing most users have just done like me and gotten
used to restart
The new kernel couldn't resume from suspend whatsoever.
