partitioner does not show partitio

Just reproduced this when trying to help a friend install Ubuntu.
Started with an empty 160GB drive, no partitions listed. Created a Linux
partition and formatted with ext4 but the same problem.
Using installer, `cat /var/log/installer/version` shows ubiquity 2.0.8
fdisk -l is below:
Disk /dev/
Hello. I changed the summary to "partitioner does not show partitions
during install" because I was going to report this bug with the name
"partitioner does not show partitions during Jaunty hard disk install".
