Based on comment #4, this sounds like it might be fixed in 11.04 (well,
10.10 but there seemed to be other problems there). Can someone test and

For me, there is an option to display the PIN or not - but since
maverick, I also have the regression that it now asks me for the PIN
every time I connect. With lucid, I was able to set it up once and
forget about it.

Just tested in lucid alpha-2 (aka 20100113) 64 bit iso loopback booted from hd
via grub2:
The pin entry is still always visible.
And btw. it insist on exactly 4 digits, which bug 318265 seems to indicate
might not be right for some people.
