You received this bug notification because
I've also installed Ubuntu 9.10 and my BCM43XG suspends/resumes

two distros? I thought for ACPI tasks these related distros would be

I'm having this problem in Kubuntu 9.10 with the same wireless card. If
there is another group in launchpad who handles acpi issues for kubuntu
please email me so I can post to them.

This script restarts the wireless system to a point where a reboot is
unnecessary.
It runs with no output and finishes in ~1 second. When finished, the wireless
is normal again.
I made this into a launcher button for a one-click fix, with command:
gksudo -- xterm -e "/home/me/reset_wireless.sh;

For anyone willing to test, care to confirm if this issue remains with
the most recent pre-release of Jaunty 9.04 (currently Alpha4) -

based kernel. You should be able to test suspend (not hibernate) via a

I can confirm this issue with the latest Intrepid release (12/31/08).
Very unfortunate that it prevents any kind of suspend/hibernate on a
laptop.
