Well, each one is mapped to a different MIME type that you opened
manually, but I don't know why it would create separate files for each.
Seems like it should just create one file and update it as you open mor

I deleted all but the most recent entry for VLC (and Text Editor too)
and that has tidied up my 'Open With Other Application' list.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I have lots of .desktop entries in there
for file formats I used "Open With..." on. I'm not sure if this has
