Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed

the temp work around on the client side if you're running ubuntu is to
run with sudo. seems to be working for me. :)

My problem is similar. Running intrepid 64 on desktop and laptop and
hardy on the dell mini 9. The 2 intrepid's are fine but hardy is very
jerky and actually completely unusable. I'm not using SSH tunneling
though.
