I have managed to get to Ubuntu from XP with DiskInternals Linux Reader.
I copied the log files from /var/log/dist-upgrade. So here they are.

this might be compiz related
try booting into a terminal from grub, then type "sudo aptitude remove compiz
compiz-core"
then reboot your machine
tell us if this fixed your problem

I can't get into Ubuntu, so i don't know how to get to /var/log/dist-upgrade.
I have a dual boot, XP and Ubuntu. And at boot every time i select ubuntu, any
kernel i get an Orange screen
and the cursor and that's it.
I don't know what to do next.
