Yes, I have both the intrepid-updates, and intrepid-security repositories enabled, and am running an up-to-date intrepid system (upgraded from an up-to-date Hardy) I really do suspect that it's an upgrade issue, and one which doesn't affect fresh intrepid installations. I added a test user post-u
