i can see from dmesg that it's loading the lirc_dev and lirc_mceusb2
(lirc = linux infrared remote control), but that's it...
steltenpower, can you confirm the usb tv-tuner is the one in the link i
pasted? (leadtek winfast dtv dongle)
also, what is the make and model of your laptop?

hardware" menu calls the digital TV tuner
the webcam is inside the laptop. Pressing the special webcam button
(which turns it on/off under Vista) didn't make a change.

seems to be a usb infrared dongle
