How can you change the status won't fix. The only keymap in keyboard preferences is USA Intl w/ AltGr Dead Keys. Bluetooth keyboards are not affected by the keyboard preferences the same way other keyboards are.. That is a pretty major bug, that violates least-surprise in about every possible way.
