Hello
I have the same problem for using Sony VPL-ES5 LCD Projector, I'm using ASUS
P5GC-VM PRO mainboard with onboard IntelĀ® 945GC Chipset I also tried GIGABYTE
GA-G31M-S2L with the same Graphic chip and I've had same problem.
I atached the xorg log file.

I just tried option number 1 (installing the test debs) -- that did not
fix the problem at all.
I'll attempt #2 tomorrow. :)
