Well, there is indeed the --iso option to deal with offline mode, and if
you are going to need a full package repo, why not use apt-mirror?
I do agree that we need better error handling for network errors. I'll
re qualify this bug as such.

What this means is that vmbuilder needs a network connection, and I was offline
at the moment.
vmbuilder needs to handle that exception better.
Also it needs to allow the use of offline packages, iso, etc
