I take care of the Geany packaging in Ubuntu and I have been running a
backport of Geany 0.16 for a few monthes without any issues. It would be
safer to backport 0.16 than 0.15 because 0.16 solves a bunch of issues.

n/m, syncbugbot was working fine, it's simply that geany is at version
0.16-0ubuntu4 in jaunty rather than the originally approved
0.15-1ubuntu1. Scott, does the approval still apply to this new
version?

But getting a package from getdeb is just an uggly workaround whereas a
backport would be a clean solution...

geany 0.15 reached Jaunty yesterday thanks to gpocentek, it builds fine
with an Intrepid pbuilder and works fine on my system. I've been using
the 0.15 version backported from experimental for something like 4
monthes without experimenting any issue, so an official backport should
be ok.

Daniel, I agree this bug relies on 302107 in order to get fixed. BUT
this does NOT mean that this one can't/ won't be fixed necessarily. So I
leave it incomplete as there is no 'depends on' status available.

@Manish
The incomplete status is because we have to wait until the Debian package is
available for 0.15 so that can be included in the Ubuntu dist. I don't think
there is much sense in making a special Ubuntu package.
Having said that, getdeb.net has already a 0.15 deb available but having it in

What more information is required?
I can see that the version of Geany in Jaunty is going to be 0.14 , not 0.15
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+source/geany/
Intrepid too has 0.14
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/geany/
What needs to be done to make 0.15 available in Ja
I think this is still a valid request but incomplete as Andre correctly

I don't think this comes under Bugs. It can be a request to make the new
version available in repos.
Hardy comes with Geany 0.13 and Intrepid with 0.14. I think this is enough.
