I try to install ubuntu 8.10 gnome in my laptop dell inspiron 1100 -intel
82845G/GL and fisrt time I see only blak screen with X corsur mose but I did:
1) upgrate my bios version to A32
2) change the share ram to 8MB
3) remove the compiz
4) change splash to nosplash in grub/menu.lst
5) try any x

well sir the scene is now a bit changed after some restarts , the
problem is gone the resolution automatically changed to 1024x768 but
after the logging in that is after enetering the username and password.
but before it the resolution is still 1200x800 and even i am unable to
see the loading and u
